Happy Tails and Happy Clients

“I honestly don't know what my life would be like if I hadn't found Nikki when I did! We got Tigger, a working line Australian Shepherd, when he was 11 Weeks old. At the time we also had a one month old baby and a 7 year old! (I mean, we weren't sleeping anyway haha). In the first few months we trained with other companies that weren't really giving us the results we wanted, and not as fast as we thought we should be seeing. Enter Nikki. In the first two weeks of working with her, we saw a huge change in Tigger and his manners. In another two weeks there was more drastic changes for the best. With every new thing Nikki teaches us, we have a better behaved and calmer, happier dog. We love taking Tigger out and about with us, from houseboat vacations to a trip to the home improvement store and everything in between. She has been flexible with when we meet for training, as I often wore the baby on my back and needed to schedule around nap time, and very responsive when I had a question, even way later than I thought she would be wanting to answer work questions! Nikki is really good with working with kids as well, my now 8 year old has been coming to lessons and working Scamper along side Tigger and I, that recently we adopted scamper and now both dogs have loving puppy brothers and human sisters that love taking them places! My 8 year old has more training knowledge than my husband thanks to Nikki! Nikki has introduced us to our new favorite way to work Tigger both mentally and physically, Through dog sports like rally obedience, agility, tricks, and frisbee!! After almost a year with Nikki, and after having gone through other dog training attempts, I can tell you she really is a wealth of knowledge and experience, and all round good person. You won't be disappointed with boomerang k9, come hang out with us in her Big Green Yard!!” - Amy

“Nikki is really good with people and dogs. She will do whatever it takes to make sure the dogs are good and trained for their owners. My dog scamper has been with her for a few years and he's a really good dog. My mom's dog has been with her for about a year and he went from nipping and barking to long sit-stays and fetch. She can can make a bad dog a good dog and a good dog a great dog. She will make any dog the best dog that they can be. She knows how to talk to them so that they listen. I recommend her to anyone who wants to make their dog good or better. you can make it so that your dog wants to listen to you and that your dog will and that you can spend those special moments with them. Nikki will be good for any dog and any person to make them be able to train their dog.”

"Nikki is great to work with and is a fantastic trainer. She doesn’t just train your dog and cut you lose - she takes the time (and has the patience) to teach you, the owner, how to effectively use the training, and why it’s so important. I personally went from being pretty lost and afraid of my first foster, to being able to confidently integrate (slowly) four dogs into my home, with the proper tools and continued guidance Nikki has provided me. She is very passionate about what she does, and the best trainer I’ve ever worked with. Whether you’re enrolled in obedience class, 1 on 1 sessions, or trick courses, whether you are working with her for the first time or a returning client like me, you always leave having learned something, feeling more confident as a dog owner, and having a stronger bond with your dog.” - Amanda

On Hilary’s Wedding Day, Hex got the first dance.

Nikki is everything we could have asked for in a trainer, mentor, and now friend. My boxer pittie rescue, Hex, was a nightmare when we adopted her. She had been returned to the shelter 6-7 times in a total of 2 months because she couldn't control herself and was labeled by the shelter as un-adoptable. The shelter volunteers let us know if this didn't work out, Hex's future wouldn't be nice. Well, I'd never had a dog and my husband had dogs who were trained before he got them growing up... but giving up on this pup wasn't an option. Our first dog rescue together went the opposite of planned, but as soon as Nikki had some time alone with Hex, the issues were figured out and we had a game plan. The biggest thing that sets Nikki apart from other dog trainers is her willingness to help the owners, just as much as the dogs, and she does that on a personalized case-by-case basis. No two people are alike, and no two dogs are the same. She gets that, and she will work with those differences (and even mobility issues/disabilities, in my case.) She will let you work with her own dogs to help you learn proper handling techniques with your own. Any time I text Nikki with a dog emergency, she is there! I needed more training help than even my wild dog did, and Nikki was there for us every step of the way. She even helped us learn some tricks, and was with us on our wedding day to help us get amazing photos with Hex! The dog I rescued was Hexed, hence her name. She couldn't stop biting, knocking people over, dragging people around. We were truly terrified of her. Now we get compliments on her behavior almost every time we leave the house. We couldn't pet Hex when we got her, and now she is just the snuggliest couch potato/lap dog in town. Nikki educated us from ignorant first time adopters, to being able to handle any kind of crazy dog outburst, and is now helping us get started on fostering dogs in the future. If you want a trainer who truly cares about you and your dogs, you gotta go with Nikki. - Hilary
